2012where it starts
Named for and inspired by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who was born in Rameswaram. Begun as street food in Bengaluru in 2012, scaled into IDC in 2014, then reborn as The Rameshwaram Cafe.
A cart, a griddle, and a line that keeps coming back. No refrigerator then either — there was nowhere to put one.
The street operation grows into IDC. The discipline sets in: small batches, fresh through the day, nothing held over.
The Rameshwaram Cafe opens Indiranagar and JP Nagar. The queue moves indoors and gets longer anyway.
Madhapur takes the dosa to Hyderabad, a counter opens at Kempegowda International Airport, and 100 Feet Road doubles down on Indiranagar.
